Diane: So an Honorary Colonel, what we do is we're a liaison between the military and the community.

Diane: So it's my job to tell you how amazing our military are and to get that message out, because they do make so many sacrifices, and they never sing their own praises.

Diane: One of the other tasks of an honorary is to go to the base, meet with people on the base, our team. My 442 Squadron. I always say those are my peeps and they're the best because they're mine.

Diane: And they can talk to me, speak to me about things, ask for advice if they want it, but it's just a sounding board.

Chris: She's passionate about 442 Squadron and the role that it plays as a search and rescue squadron. I just don't think we could ask for a better Honorary Colonel than Diane.

Diane: I can't say enough about how wonderful our military are. One of the amazing attributes that they have is they have each other's back. It's something, you know, we bring back to our firm and for me, it's great to be able to share that.

Farideh: Our team is like a chain. We work together. This is something that Diane taught us, and you can only accomplish when you are working together, and you are looking after each other and backing up each other.

Izumi: It was important to nominate Diane, because it's so important that we benchmark excellence. And Diane is excellent in everything. And in this case, it has to do with volunteerism and leadership. She puts her passion into action in such a heartfelt way.
Diane: To win this award means the world to me, because it will mean the world to 442 Search and Rescue. And it will make a substantial difference in the lives of military families.
Chris: That Diane is taking this $5000 award, and giving it to base fund, I think there's a great linkage really there between the Canadian Forces, our families and Canada Life.
Diane: When you give, you always get so much more back, whether it's a great feeling or the learning.
