Creating 3D representations of GIS data is not new. We’ve been able to do that for quite a while now. However, the advancements that have taken place since the early days are quite dramatic and have included some big steps along the way.
What you will see in this video demonstration is another step in the progression to a 3D environment that, although based in earth science is approaching virtual reality – all within the context of a Geographic Information System.
