How to Incorporate Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (JEDI) into Canadian STEM Courses Webinar

This keynote presentation is brought to you in partnership with Society for Canadian Women in Science & Technology (SCWIST). Learn more about SCWIST at https://scwist.ca

Women, BIPOC, and LGBTTQQIAAP communities are underrepresented in STEM disciplines and industries across Canada. For example, in 2016, data from Stats Canada showed that only 34% of STEM bachelor's degrees and 23% of science and technology work were held by women. As educators, how do we remove barriers and consciously work towards creating safe and inclusive spaces for these traditionally marginalized voices in STEM?

To help bridge the gap, we invite you to join our keynote presentation where Dr. Poh Tan from the Society for Canadian Women in Science & Technology (SCWIST) will present research about creating teaching environments that welcome diverse perspectives and backgrounds, promotes equitable treatment of students, faculty, and staff, and ensures that participation in learning, mentoring, research, and engagement is accessible to all through a Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (JEDI) approach.
